So Harry,

I am just in the process of installing my bed back in our Holiday Rambler. I put plates on the bed frame.

Question; When you say you "adjusted the bed box" do you mean that you raised the rollers up high enough so they didn't contact the floor with the road slide in?

When I removed the bed and the rollers to install my new flooring I found that the rollers were set to the lowest setting from the factory, this was far to low as my bed used to leave marks on our carpet. I can't have that happen now as I have switched to hardwood.

Let us know.

When I reinstalled the bed box, I repositioned the aluminum angle braces while shimming the box to hold it higher. Once I had the box aligned, I reattached the the braces making new holes in the wood. It will settle some after it is assembled and the bed is in place. Then I adjusted the rollers to give me the clearance I needed.

The bed box seems to "float" until the outer slide flange seats against the outside wall. Then the box presses into the floor. In other words, the box is not truly perpendicular to the slide wall, it is angled down a bit.

When you remount the bed box, crank up the rollers all the way, reinstall the aluminum braces as described above, run it out and adjust the rollers down a bit to alleviate any binding.

Practice adjusting the rollers with the box out to get the feel of things. A 1/4 socket set with a long extension works well.
