Bedroom floor noise

On my Monaco Knight, 2011, we have a thumping noise as you walk thought the bedroom. It sounds like a loose floor? Sounds like someone hitting a drum softly.

Noises like this are kind of like water leaks, it is difficult to find the origin sometimes. I had one similar only in the front of my MH and I found it by getting under while someone else walked above. It took a few times but if you have some help you might be able to locate the source. One person recreates the action causing the noise and the other looks for the actual source.

In my case it was a piece of sheet steel above the transmission between the frame that was flexing and causing the drum noise you describe. A muffled boooom.

Interesting enough I have the same noise as you right now. My MH is in storage and after a tough winter we put it away for a while but soon I will have to do the same thing in the back of our MH.

Hi!What I hate are ghost relays clicking in the night or hydrolic jacks making noise with temprature change. My wife is a light sleeper and she hears all that stuff. I hope you locate the source of the noise, however, it could be much worse like a water leak, now that will really cause some chest pain.

Good luck, Bill

I think I forgot to say, it happens only when you walk over the floor. Not a water leak. I think it could be the screws that hold the flooring to the metal frame. I had this happen to our last 5th wheel. I took the screws out an added lock tight to them and screwed them back in. Not sure this will work with this RV.
