I am looking for someone that has, or had, a 2001 40 foot Holiday Rambler Endeavor motor home that has some experience in adjusting the bedroom slide. I can not get the top left corner of the slide to close off against the motor home. It will not pull in flush for about a foot down from the top corner and also across the top of the slide for about 2 feet. This slide is different from any other slides that I have had as it only sits on one set of rollers and they only adjust the height. I have been in touch with Monaco and they keep telling me that they never built a slide like I am telling them I have.
What I need to know is how to tilt the top left hand corner in so that it seals against the side of the Motorhome, if I leave the slide closed and it rains I will get a lot, and I mean a lot of water in the coach.
Bob

Bob, need a bit more information. What does the mechanism and motor look like that move the slide? Is it anything like the pictures below?

Hopefully these pictures will give you a better idea of what the slide mechanism looks like. This set up is really different then any other one that I have seen as everything is contained and attached to the headboard and the bed box is free floating. As a result the headboard moves a great deal when you first start to put the slide out. The pictures of the rollers are the only rollers for this slide except for the two in the floor that the bed box roll on that have zero effect on the slide tilt alignment. Monaco service techs are telling me that I don’t have want is in this Motorhome and that the floor rollers adjust the tilt.
Thanks for any advice or help that you might have. Right now I have run a 5/8 bulb type gasket across that top and down the side that seems to have stopped the water leak when tested with the hose but only a good rain storm will tell..

Bob, that looks like the mechanism in the 2001 Diplomat LE bedroom slide. Have the Monaco Tech Support look up that one and tell you how to adjust it. That one is different than what I have and looks just like yours.

Bob,
That's the same setup I have in our 2001 Knight. I haven't had your problem, but I think the nose of that rack gear is mounted with slots so you could move it up or down. The the top of my slide tilts in quite a bit during mid extension and doesn't square up until it makes contact with the wall. You can also grab and shake the whole top of the slide back and forth fairly easly until all the way in or out.

Rex, ====Thanks for the help. I talk to a Monaco Tech. today and with the information that you gave me we identified the slide and the manufacture of it. Unfortunately there is no way to adjust this particular make of slide, according to them, to bring that top left hand corner in, the only adjustment is up and down. The slide was made by De Walt who was bought by Power Gear so that shoots down any conversation with them as they will not talk to the end consumer, only dealers. They will respond to a fax so I will see if they can give me any additional information on this slide. Monaco did give me the assembly number and also sent me a parts list.
Bob, ==== mine does the same thing when I open it and I don’t like it. Sure seems that it puts a lot of strain on the entire headboard as it starts to move out. I questioned the dealer about this when we purchased this unit and he assured me that that is the way it was designed to work, I just don’t like seeing any thing moving back and forth that much. By the way if you would like a copy of the parts list for this slide mechanism get me your email address and I will send you a copy.
Bob

Bob, glad I was able to provide some useful information. Just for future reference, I would like a copy of the information Monaco sent you. Please forward it to me rbdtanasi at yahoo dot com. You might go to the Power Gear web site and perhaps they will have drawings of the mechanism that could be helpful.
