Bedroom Slide Motor Replacement

Has anyone replaced the motor on a 2005 HR Scepter or similar Monaco drivers side bedroom slide, I was quoted 4 to 5 hrs labor,.
Looking at the motor , I,m thinking replacing it my self, does not seem to be that time consuming.

Well it was not the motor that was the issue the RV shop got it wrong, I looked under the slide and saw gouges from the roller bracket on the under side of the slide.
Don,t know why the tech never took the time to look under the slide, not going back for any service from them.
Question how do I get to the bracket, looks like have to jack the slide up an inch to remove or repair the roller assembly, any suggestions?

I tried to attach a photo

Which bedroom slide are you refering to -- If it`s the slide for the bed, I can post pictures of the rollers from inside the coach -- I have the bed out now for carpet replacement -- William Willard

Bob -- I have a 07 42' Camelot, & this is the setup Monaco used on mine -- Your slide is probably made by Lippert, & they have an online store, with the rollers you will need -- Google Lippert Componets -- They are about $25.00 -- One picture shows the metal runner that I had installed under each roller on the underside of the slide -- Another shows how the bed rollers has eat into the bottom of the bed -- Added metal runners there also -- It`s not a big job to remove the bed, & would be easier to do you project if you do that -- Need to check the bottom of the bed anyway -- William Willard

William, could not find the part similar to the picture you posted at Lippert, do you happen to have the part number of the Roller assembly?

Bob -- I couldn`t find the part on Lipperts site either -- I tried rvupgrades.com & no luck -- Could not find the part # , but I contacted Harry Martin (harrycarz) & he`s located that roller assy before -- He`ll get back to me or you, when he finds it again --
In the mean time, if you go to HomeDepot or Lowe`s, & get a door kick plate, install it under the slide where it`s been rubbing & see if that helps -- The slide is not very heavy, & can be raised with a car jack -- William Willard

That is an adjustable roller. Just turn the end of the bolt shown in the picture. You will have to try turning it both ways to see which way is up. It is the same roller that is used under the bed.

From looking at the picture, I believe you would turn it counterclockwise to raise it. Don't worry about unscrewing the bolt from the roller assembly, as the bolt doesn't come out, it just moves the wedge to raise or lower rollers.

And, be sure to install plate on the bottom of the slide.

Bill's coach uses two of the larger rollers, mine uses one large and one small adjustable roller. Yours should also have two rollers. On another Diplomat, I saw where Monaco used two small non adjustable rollers toward the rear of the bed slide instead of one adjustable roller. I don't recall what was at the front end of the bed slide, though.

Monaco's are like snowflakes, no two the same.

I just took a picture of my adjustable roller. Same as yours.

The roller that Harry is showing, is available from Lippert Componets # P45-115613 & cost $31.72 -- But if you can find the rollers like mine, that would be a much better fix, & easier to install -- Call Lippert & see if it`s available -- William Willard

Bill,
Look at his picture again. His is welded in place. Hopefully it is just out of adjustment. I would crank it counterclockwise and see if the rollers showed themselves.

Harry -- Are your rollers welded, & if so, how in the heck would you ever replace them -- William Willard

I can't see any welds on mine and can feel where it attaches that there is carpet underneath it. The cabinet with drawers is in the way of seeing it from the inside. Maybe it is attached like the bed box rollers.
