It sounds like the shear pin has sheared on the curb side bedroom slide. I can hear the motor run but no slide movement. I removed the access panel under the bed and can't even reach the motor. ( slide is retracted). Anyone had any experience with this? How would you manually open the slide to access it, without being able to get to the motor?

It yours is a cable slide, you most likely have a broken cable. DON'T pull the cable out if you see it. Come back here and tell us IF it is a cable slide and I can point you to instruction for repair. If you don't know what type slide you have, call Monaco 877-466-6226 with your coach serial number and they can tell you.

It is not a cable slide. That is on the other side and I have changed a cable on it. The broken shear pin is on a motorized gear slide. It is located over the batteries, so the only access is under the bed. Looks like if the slide was extended, it wouldn't be that hard to replace pin, but the slide is retracted, so no way to reach it. Really a poor design for maintenance. I just hate to try and force the slide open to gain access to the motor to see if it is the shear pin or the gear on the motor stripped.

Our slide broke in the retracted position. In our case I was able to sit on the floor with my back against the slide and my feet on the opposite wall and push the slide out. With the pin broken the brake is not holding the slide in. Not sure how your MH is set up, but hope it helps.

You could also tilt the RV with the jacks a let gravity assist you.

I had a 1999 Admiral same problem. I was able to locate the drive shaft and replace the shear pin either with the slide in or out.The shaft was behind an aluminum panel that was inside one of the storage bays . I also found that on the shaft was a quarter inch bolt and nut that was a low grade bolt that broke and then caused one of the shear pins to shear. I replaced both shear pins and purchased two grade 8 bolts and nuts.I never had problem after.

I have a 2007 Endeavor 40PDQ. My bed slide is on the road side. If your slide normally "ratchets" when it is extended their is no shear pin. If you look at the end of the motor shaft assembly, with the cover removed, you shoud see a "nut" on the end of the shaft. Use a socket with extensions to manually turn this nut and you can move the slide. The problem I had was that a nylon gear in the motor drive stripped. Check with Lippert components for replacement parts

my knight 40 skq slide is as Dennis described, it makes a ratcheting noise when it is all the way out. It's also as you described, pass side, above the battery compartment.
I can check the access tomorrow if you like?
