I'm not a really handy guy when it comes to fixing things on the motorhome. I'm always envious reading the various threads from some of the talented people on this forum. I have certainly learned a lot from my reading. I decided to tackle the change out of our old CRT in the bedroom
We bought a 26" LG LED HDTV. I was amazed at the weight of the old TV. I used the frame from around the old TV and put hinges on it to make a door on which to hang the new TV. I'm pleased with the way it looks. Nita is really excited about the extra storage space. I now have to get the HD reciever to start enjoying HD programming ... at least in the bedroom. I'll tackle the front TV later.

I want to do the exact same thing to ours. We have the sister coach, 06 Endeavor. Can you take a pic of the hinges and the catch for closing and the piece of plywood you put behind the TV and any other pertinent items and send them to me via personal e-mail please? I was just looking at it yesterday. The price of TV's are going down and around Christmas they may even be cheeper. Thanks in advance.

Steve......Nice job! Ours was on the rear wall and swung out toward the bed, it was a pain to change out. Just for info, "Bill2", you can still order doors from Monaco. When I did mine, I had to remove the TV and put in two new doors. Moanco made exact matches, 5 years later. They're a little pricey.

Nutensteve –
Great job. I especially like the ventilation below for the addition of the HD Rx. Wish I’d thought that far ahead!
Bill2 –
We also did the same thing. It’s simpler to do than you’d think. There’s also quite a few other folks who have done the same and posted pics.
After removing the old tv, I simply took a piece of nice oak-veneer plywood and screwed it to the backside of the old tv frame (think picture and picture-frame here), cutting it so it would fit flush with the existing cabinet walls when closed. The new tv was screwed to this plywood, with a couple holes for the wiring to poke thru. The hinge (on the right side as you face the tv) is a cut-down standard piano-hinge, screwed to the tv-frame.
The catch is just a couple (for redundancy when traveling) of the same latches we have for the drawers.
I also screwed a shelf inside the cabinet. But now wish I’d made the shelf adjustable. Wife keeps wanting it moved “... up a little ... no, wait… down… that’s it, a little more… oops, too far… back where it was… awww, now it’s crooked.” The inside looks like I have termites or something from all the holes.
HTH

I ordered an HD receiver from Direct and installed it yesterday. It took me awhile to figure out how to get the signal to the back receiver but finally figured it out. I was lucky the dish installer ran two lines from the Sat. dish. What a difference watching in HD. We find ourselves going to bed earlier so we can watch the bedroom TV.
Thanks for the compliments !!

You did basically what we did. Sure like the extra space for????? well you know, the wifes stuff. Removed the CRT in the front as well and had a flat panel door made. I have been reloctant to hang a tv there though. First I don't like the height at which it would have been. Same as the CRT but I didn't like it there anyway. I prefer something much lower. It seems much more comfortable for me to watch. The extra space there is great as well. For now I guess we'll just leave the tv on a small table we have behind the passenger seat. For us that has been working a lot better. By the way GREAT JOB on yours.
