We found ourselves in the position for health reasons that we need to sell our Monaco Diplomat. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a very good consignment RV dealer in the state of Texas to bring our rig into. Any advice will be deeply appreciated. Thanks.

I second the recommendation for PPL. We consigned our 2001 Dutch Star through PPL earlier this year and they did a great job - no hassles, very professional and sold in three weeks.

Advertise it everywhere. We looked at about 10 sites, found the coach we bought on two of them. Use RV.net, and use any club sites you can access.
And post a lot of high quality photographs and if you can, a floorplan.

Those are all good ideas if you're trying to owner sell but they were pretty specific about finding a good consignment dealer in Texas.

I haven't used them, but I hear Motor Home Specialist near Dallas, Tx is good if you want to consign you MH.

I've shopped at MH Specialist, notice they draw customers from Europe and Canada as well as the US. While they don't push consignments as hard as their own pre-owned acquisitions, the consignments are literally parked in the middle of the inventory there.
Richard "Buck" Buckner is a new guy on staff, very enthusiastic.

While on a consignment lot, verify your insurance is in force. Most of these places rely on you to carry the insurance, and it is excluded on some RV policies.

PPL sold our 5er in about 3 weeks after we had tried for a year. Thye get a lot of traffic and do move the units.
They will work with you on what is a reasonable price and set a minimum you want to get for the RV. You will not hear from them until it sells or has an offer below your minimum.
Their labor rates fro repairs are not the cheapest as they flat rate the repair and you get charge a half hour to "diagnose and replace" a tail lamp. So make sure you have a FULL understanding of any repairs you authorize.

I agree with Ken, but want to expand on what he said about repairs. When you list your unit with them you fill out a questionnaire and list everything wrong or not working with the coach. Whatever is not listed on that sheet and they find in their inspection you will be asked to pay for the repair.
Two things I didn't list was the check valve at the water inlet which I put in an inline shutoff, and the generator needed a fuel filter. They wanted over $300.00 to repair those two items. So beware! I listed my unit in March and it was sold in June.

Ditto....my comprehensive coverage specifically excludes coverage while "on consignment".
