On our way home yesterday, we stopped at a little spot on the side of the road and tried to extend the living room slide. It made it about 1 foot out and stopped. Wouldn't move in or out. Got to looking around and found the motor power wire had gotten wrapped around the shaft and pulled out of the motor. Tried to manually retract the slide with a 18" adjustable wrench. Yeah right! Maybe I was missing something, I call Monaco tech 800 number and left a message. Lucky for me someone came by with a piece of pipe that fit on the wrench and we were able to turn it in. That puppy is tight. The good part is a Monaco tech called me back in about 45 minutes. I had already gotten it in by then but he said he would start the process to get me a new motor sent out. Not bad for 7 PM on a Sunday.

Now that's gotta be a helpless feeling, glad you were able to resolve it.

I used to have a SOB (some other brand). and noticed one day that there was a big ring bolted to the floor under the couch in the slideout and another against the opposite wall under a lump in the carpet. Dealer didn't have a clue what it was for, so I started reading the manual (yeah yeah, I know ...).

Turns out it's for manually retracting the slideout with a Come-Along hooked to the 2 rings. I've been thinking about doing the same for this coach "Just In Case".

Or maybe I'll just wait til it happens, then sling a long rope around the entire thing and cinch it tight with the toad-vehicle.
