Dear Troll:
We were really lookin forward to SACs returning to cooking class, and the avon meetings...but with you there, it just won't be the same as when he was here alone.

Dear "Ladies of Camp Monaco"
Please feel free to take Sacs under your ..ahem ...wings...as I will be either in the coach getting all dolled up before I go to work...or I'll actually be working

Please teach him how to thread a sewing machine since it is in Sacramento and I am here!
Thank you in advance for all the attention you can give him while under your "wings"!
Love,
Mama

We left AZ. on the 26th as planned -- All was well until Barstow, then some wind, but not bad for this area -- Mojave was another story -- We got there about 1o pm & the hwy. was closed due to high winds & blowing dust -- Made it to a vacant lot where I was able to park facing the wind -- Air levelers work good in 75mph gust- Wind died down after dark, & the hwy opened -- Bakersfield sure looked good -- We stayed on hwy 99 the next day(high winds on I-5) & stayed in Stockton - Today, we`re in Red Bluff, & will proceed on to Eugene in a few days, depending on weather -- Don`t have to be in Harrisburg till the 7th -- Bill Willard

Here we are in Brookings, right at the California border, and the weather is already better While it is raining, it is in the high 40's compared to Potland in the low 40's...when I cross into California later this morning, we might even see the sun

teoff --- I`m thinking about using that route when we return to AZ. -- I`m concerned about the RV parks, going that way -- If I remember rite, they are older, small parks, & not suitable for 42ft`ers (WITH PAINT) -- If you find decent parks, let me know --MonacoMama- Probably head your way in the morn -- Looks like there is a break in the weather for the next 2 days -- Maybe, can make Eugene, in the same day -- Bill Willard

Billy,
I have been working pretty much since just after Christmas...and staying busy...actually been getting home late...I think every night since I went back to work after Xmas! (Evidently accountants up here REALLY DO tell people they need to buy vehicles before the end of the year! )

I hope you are able to make it up here by tomorrow. Call Deerwood today & let Mike know you are here cuz of MonacoMama and they should give you a discount. You should be able to follow us on into Harrisburg on the 1st. They should have plenty of free campsites available now.
Sacs & I will open a bottle of wine early to celebrate the New Years if you get here tomorrow (I have no champagne...sorry)
...Or you can head on into Harrisburg and we can meet up on the 1st when we pull in..
Looking forward to meeting you soon!

MM

William:
We stayed in Brookings last night, at ATWATER RV park...it was very nice...just off the highway, alongside the river. Tonight we are in Petaluma, at a KOA...Woodalls gives it 5 stars...I don't see that - in fact I would give it about a 3 star..and two nights cost $110...but that is competitive with other parks in this area. Going to NAPA in the morning to walk around and taste some wines. The coast route is a very challanging drive...lot's of narrow 2 lanes, and lots of sharp curves...definatly a tiring drive, because your working most of the time...but very beautiful...I-5 is a much faster route if the weather permits. Travel safe!

Oh, Napa, our favorite!!!!! You know we just got married there this past October. If you want any input on some really great wineries that are "off the path", let me now, we have had an awesome Chauffeur/Napa Guide the past two years we have been there, and he has taken us to some really wonderful wineries. In fact, if you want a driver, I would highly recommend him. We would probably never have found some of the amazing places we've seen if he hadn't taken us to them. His name is Jason Blaine, cellphone 415-710-5328. If you do call him, tell him Brenda & Tony Down referred you. If we had to recommend just one winery to visit, it would be, well, I just asked Tony and we can't decide on just one. For a small, intimate but very fun winery, you might want to start at Frank Family Winery. Very fun, they pour a lot, a good place to start. We soooo love Rutherford Hill Winery, great wines, and you can pick up some cheese and bread on the way and have a picnic with a bottle of their wine out on their picnic tables overlooking the valley. If it's a nice day, Reverie Winery's gardens are awesome, and if you can get a walking tour of the winery, all the better. Our winery expert there was a young guy, very knowledgeable, very funny. (Julian was his name, I think). That is where I took this photo of a Fairy Circle of Redwood Trees, the gardens are awesome there.

By the way, we usually park the coach at Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga, a beautiful and unexpected RV park in Calistoga, you can walk to town... very nice!

I'm also be curious as to the weather in Napa this time of year. Fill us in on the details!

Here are a couple more pics... first, the Wine Cave at Reverie Winery...

And, the view of Napa Valley from the picnic area at Rutherford Hill Winery...

Have fun, and Happy New Year!!
