Lyle,

I don't think you want to go for a heavier stiffer shock. That 10% and 30% are going to make your coach pretty stiff and rough. I think you've got to stay in that 627, 628, 629 stuff.

I was miffed because my HD shock (629), was going to be stiffer than the comfort shock (628). 644-Wow! That's a BIG difference!

I don't think the numbers are sequential. Bilstein as well as two of their better known dealers recommended the HD 664 over the Comfort for my application. We'll see, if you see me laying under my coach on the side of the road swapping shocks front to back you'll know what happened.

Lyle,

Just checking in to see if you have been able to install your new shocks.

I have a 2000 Windsor on a RR8S chassis and I keep getting 2 different part numbers for shocks like you did.

BE5-F664 HO - front/rear

BE5-2500-MO - front/rear

I wish I could get an answer on which ones I really need.

Thanks,

Cory

I'll be installing the shocks tomorrow but don't have any plans on going anywhere until the end of March so won't know until then. The 664s do fit, they have an upper eye that is larger than the lower and have the same stroke etc. It will remain a mystery until I get to use them if they work.
I seem to recall last year when I first started looking for shocks the 2500 MO number came up and I was told it was an old number I'm not 100% sure.
It was only after I contacted Bilstein Germany that I got a response from Bilstein West in California.
