Bilstein Shocks

I upgraded the original shocks for my Monaco Windsor in 2012 and installed a new set of bilstein's at that time. My question is how long should the Bilstein shocks last?

If they are the offroad updated ones, most likely they are and most people dont realize they are.... but 5 years of heavy use 7 or 8 with light.

That's for the peak performance they may last much longer.

How many miles have you put on the 2012 Bilsteins?
Generally, what type of roads?
What makes you ask the question?

When you drive over a large bump, does the coach continue to bounce, or does it bounce 1 time and stop (this is for both front and rear)?

I have about 32k miles on mine now and without taking them off to test they seem to be shot. Cross country multiple times so they have been tortured.

Leaving unlevel driveways and the coach will rock back and forth way too much.

I have been checking into the warranty because they claim lifetime. It will be interesting to find out how they honor the warranty.

Bought mine through Summit Racing. Got a good price and shipping included. They were a pain to install because mine do not have a "nut" welded to the bottom of the shaft on the top. That was misery holding them with vice grips to be able to tighten them.

Bilstein Shocks

I was told by Spartan the warranty was only valid if installed by a Bilstein authorized shop. Spartan is not authorized. When I asked Bilstein for a list of such shops, they could not provide it. I sent photos of my shock that fell apart and got no response. Offering a warranty is one thing. Supporting it is another.

Exactly. Just a ploy just like any other company to get you to buy their product. It's all good until you read the fine print. Just my opinion.

To the OP when we replaced our shocks I could not find the OEM Monroe shocks. There were 2 options that I could find...Bilstein and Koni. I have used both shocks in the past but choose the less expensive Bilstein's. about 12K miles in 2 years and so far so good.

Must return to original vendor with proof of purchase? That might be fun.

By the time you pay freight to send them back if ordered online and then have to pay for shipping you new ones you may be able to buy them new.

Shocks

Ordered new Bilstein shocks from SDTRUCKSPRINGS.com for my 2002 HR Neptune diesel pusher. Had to wait for them as they were back ordered. Put fronts on and its a whole new Motorhome.
Had Monroes with 50,000 miles on them but fronts were really dead.
Best $400 I ever spent.

Summit Racing just told me normal wear out is NOT warranty.

The warranty is mfgr defect etc. So I guess if one breaks in half they will cover them.

So much for lifetime warranty.

Anyone have the part number for Monroes? I can't find a current number.

This is for a 2008 HR Endeavor.

" free from defects in material and workmanship. Proof of purchase is required to process warranty."
