Well, I got the coach out of storage Sunday and I have been cleaning since then. Every one of my slide awnings had a bird nest in it. All were at the rear of the awning. They made a mess of the side of the coach.
I am looking for suggestions to plug the gap between the coach sidewall and the awning.
Of course, I could go buy a full cover for the coach but I have had bad experiences with them on previous coaches.
So, if anyone has had this experience and has come up with a fix I would be interested in knowing how you did it.
Thanks in advance

I have the same issue, I'm interested to see how folks have solved this issue.

I have a cover---so no problem but as I sit and think--perhaps getting some of the pipe insulation---the tubular stuff cut it to length and just stuff it in the gap? Or one of those tubular floating devices and doing the same thing?
Perhaps make a template of the opening then get some 4 inch foam or styrofoam and cut a block to shape using the template and stick it in the gap?
Old t-shirt? Stuff it in there.

Hi PizzaGuy,
We had the same problem this year and after repeatedly digging out the nesting materials only to have those tenacious birds put it right back, we finally went to Agway to inquire about how to get rid of them. They sold us a balloon that is used to scare birds away from gardens. It actually looks like a yellow beach ball with reflective "eyes" all around it and red reflective ribbon hanging under it. As it blows in the wind, it reflects the sunlight and makes the birds think that some sort of animal is nearby. It only cost $10 and was well worth it! Only thing is, we put it on the side where the birds were nesting, and those clever birds moved to the other side... a short trip back to Agway for a second balloon has stopped them on that side too. We also bought a bad smelling repellent spray that they told us to put on a rag and stuff in the end of the awning. Some combination of those two tricks has solved the problem so far. To help keep the birds away, we also bought a small cheap birdhouse at Walmart for $5.00 and hung it on a tree next to the Motorhome.

It happened to me at my new storage yard. I pushed a water bottle in at each end. (After I cleaned all the grass out)
It hasn't happened since.
The bottles stay in while driving also. I get them out when I get to our camping area, after I put the slide out.
Cheap fix!
