Black tank flush connection

On my 2008 HR Admiral there is a hose connection for flushing the waste tank. Has a pictograph over the connection of a commode with a water spray below it. There is no valve on this connection.

Questions: 1) where does the water enter the waste tank? 2) should I add a hose-end valve on the connection (prevent possible back flow??) 3) is this an effective way to flush the tank?

Thanks

Lamar

I do believe they have a back flow preventer built in. The line enters the top of the black tank as to pressure wash and flush the tank. No valves are needed. Connect your hose directly to a water connection to flush, flush and disconnect. Never use your fresh water hose and don't leave connected in case the back flow fails.

Hope this answers your question.......

FWIW, according to the instructions on our Monaco, it recommends using a reg, set at 50 # or less, on the flush hose.
I connect the hose to a faucet then put a reg on the connection for the hose in the bay.
Seems to work for me anyway.
Hope this helps as well.
