Black water tank

Friends I think I developed a mass in my black water tank. It doesn't seem to drain all the way. Thinking about putting a can of draino and a bag of ice with some water, then drive it around and then drain it. Any idea's?

Dump hot water and 1 cup of laundry detergent.
Add two bags of ice cubes.
Go for a drive.
Fill to 3/4 full
Drain.

Repeat as needed.

Never drain black tank until at least 1/2.
Boondocking presents the problem of trying to conserve water.
If possible always use as much water as possible.
I would rather dump the black tank every three days than deal
with a plugged tank.

Voice of experience....bin there dun that

If that doesn't work, get the Happy Camper Extreme treatment and use it according to their instructions. It WILL clean up that tank! Then after you get it clean use the regular Happy Camper treatment on a regular basis. You will likely never have another problem and no odors!

This is what I do when I empty my tanks. Once they are empty I fill the both tanks full and empty them again. I have a clear elbow which allows me to see what is coming out of the tank. This is a must have for everyone. If it is still dirty the second time I do it again. Once I am sure the tank is clear of all waste I put about 10 to 15 gallons of water back it the tank and add my toilet chemicals. I do this for both the Black and the Grey. As you are driving the liquid in the tanks are sloshing around rinsing and cleaning your tanks and gauges. Plus when you get to your destination your tanks are ready for use or they are usable in route to your destination.

If you wanted to you could fill the tanks 3/4 at home before you left for a campground, add you chemicals and dump when you arrive. Clean it on the way there and the way home. I hope this helps.
