just saw the other post about a similar issue.i have a 08 cayman .i hooked up a prodigy brake controller so i could tow my 14 foot wells cargo enclosed trailer and noticed my brake lights on the trailer only go on when i press my brake pedal.when the exhuast brake goes on the motorhome the brake lights go on the motorhome but not on the trailer.anyone ever solve this issue .it seems to me my brakelights on the trailer should light up when the exhaust brake engages because they light up on the motorhome.

thanks eric

I am in Ohio on a business trip and don't have the schematics with me. From what I remember looking at Don's schematic there may be a separate circuit to control the brake lights for the 7 pin trailer plug. It is very possible that the bake light circuit to the 7 pin trailer plug is not in any way connected to the exhaust brake circuit. I have never looked to see if our CRV lights come on with the exhaust brake. They do come on with the service brake. Maybe others who have been down this road will post and let us know if we should expect the towed vehicle brake lights energized via the 7 pin plug to come on with the exhaust brake minus the service brake.

If you can read prints, check the one on Cayman?neptune 2006 chassis, I found a relay on my coach that did not have a trigger wire attached to it. That was almost a week of looking, Hope it is fixed now, I'll find out next week.

The Exhaust brake is sending voltage to the lights only. It is not putting on the brakes. If you sent voltage to the trailer lights it would also put the brakes on the trailer on. The trailer brakes are ELECTRIC. I hope i am explaining this so it is understood. Bottom line is you don't want the brakes to go on with the exhaust brake.
