I recently purchased a Brake Master 9160 with brake away option toad brake system for my 2010 Chevy Equinox .I also obtain the mount bracket and the brake light switch for the Equinox from Roadmaster.

Has anyone installed a Roadmaster Brakemaster 9160 on a 2004 Endeaver? I have been using a Brake Buddy and I am not pleased with it. Once I install the Brake Master the Brake Buddy Classic will be listed on Craigs list.

The instructions that came with the Brake Master seem straight forward but I have concerns attaching the air line to the coaches rear air brake junction block. I have not inspected the coach as to where to attach the air line due to the weather. Too cold and too much snow but will do so when the weather breaks.

Where is this junction block located? Is there a port on the block which I simply screw in the adapter or do I have to splice the air line to create an additional port? Does any one have a photo of this junction block? Are there any errors in the instruction manual or other suggestions?

Robert that is a good system and easy to install, for the air line (air the coach up) be sure to use the plastic 1/4 air line for truck air service dont just get any type. Crawl under the right side rear (or what ever side you want) in front of the axle locate the air brake chamber it is the little tank looking thing that actuates the brakes you will have 2 1/2 hoses to it one hose goes up to a valve attached to the frame rail loose that hose at the valve and get some one to apply the foot brake you should hear air escaping out of the loose fitting if so you have the place to hook your 1/4 air line to the service air. Remove the line and carefully remove the hose fitting go to a truck supply get a brass T with the proper NPT threads to fit in the valve and a opening on top for the 1/4 fitting probably 90 deg ftg the rest is apparent.

Robert....I bought the SMI unit and it came with the "T" that Walt is describing. Check your parts that came with the brake system for the "T". I was also a little hesitant to tap into the brake line, but it was as easy to do as Walt described. The only thing I did different was add the corrugated plastic wiring protector (the stuff that's split and used over wiring projects...available at Home Depot) over the brake line. I wanted to make sure it had extra protection all the way back to the hitch connection.
