Need some input on bringing cable from a cell phone booster into my Diplomat. I plan to mount the antenna on my ladder near the roof and want the wire to come in just behind the pilot or co-pilots seat. Was hoping for an easy in but didn't see it yet, this is a coax type cable so I can't slip it in a window. Thanks for any help, jmyers - now fulltiming for 5 months and lovin it.

Maybe run it underneath and above the rear axle and just zip-tye it to whatever rails you have down there and then bring it inside from under the front area into behind the dash and then you can get to it from the seat???

Another common option is to go up to the roof and bring it inside down the refer vent flue.

Well I don't know about your 07 Diplomat, but on my 01 Diplomat there is a spare 2" conduit front to back. You may also have one. Check under the coach just behind the front tire, and look on the inside of the driver's side frame rail. If it is like mine you will see two conduits there. You can use an electricians fish tape pushed through the conduit from the front and then pull the wire back through. On mine it came out just above the transmission. I could not find it there when looking until the fish tape came out.

Once you get it to the front, again if yours is like mine, you can enter the front run bay under the driver by following other wiring in the frame rail. Once you are inside that bay you can go up into the side panel where the gear selector is and from there anywhere in the dash area.

Or if you want it to come up on the co-pilots side, just cross over to that side and come up inside the panel beside the co-pilots seat.

The conduits on the passenger side of my coach were full and I could not get the fish tape through any of them.

Thanks to Rex, RV Dude and to Mama for the advice and the pictures. I am still playing with the best location, it's now on the ladder and I'm getting 3 to 4 bars anywhere in the coach. If it stays there I'll more than llikely use the fridge space and run the cable thru the cabinets at the table. Thanks to all again.

How do you plan to get the cable into the "Fridge Space"???
The SFT does not have the traditional refridge duct on the roof of the coach. If you are going to put your router/amplifier in the cabinets over there, you are going to have to run the cable into the rear cap then into the space below the washer/dryer area, then through/under all of the cabinets just to get to the fridge area.

Thanks Sacs, I would have discovered that the hard way, we had 90 degree weather on Sat. and Sunday, I'll wait till it cools down a little. I still want to check another location before running the wiring.

I just wanted to point out a possible minor problem I saw in those pictures. You used WHITE cable ties to fasten the trucker antenna cable to your existing TV cable. White cable ties bake and crack in sunlight and will likely not last a year in full sun... especially in warmer climates. One solution is to use BLACK cable ties, also readily available in hardware stores. They last years longer.

I saw this recent post on Monacoers that looks pretty simple and keeps the antenna out of harms way.

We mounted our low-profile Wilson Trucker antenna in the same way as
George C. "Since my amplifier is mounted in the rear closet, I used the
ladder as the mounting structure, more specifically, the lower stand-off
on the outside (curb side) of the ladder. In this position, the tip of
the antenna is just below the roof line".

Only had to drill one hole in a rear closet to bring the coax
into the rig and attach it to an aircard inserted into our wireless
router. We get a great signal going down the road with this setup. I
mounted the antenna on the rear ladder with a standoff bracket (road
side) so that the top of it is no higher than the air conditioners.

The post referred to by Mark was made by me. Here is a link to a more detailed description of how I installed our Wilson antenna.
