I have looked in a ton of places for the bulbs that illuminate the inside steps (into the coach). They are "festoon" based bulb. I believe they say 14V 4W on them, but my eyeballs are not like they use to be.
Here is where they are -
And what they look like -
I have found some in all of the places I have looked, but always way too big or way too small (physical size). I have tried at Wildwood parts counter and they couldn't find it. I have an email in to Monaco parts. I am sure someone else has these lights and had to find bulbs for them. Can it be that hard?
I am also looking for a source for the sticky foam insulation used around the escape hatches. Has anyone replaced it with another type?
Thanks in advance -

Hey Kev -
I know how tough it is to find a particular part when no one seems to recognize it (but if it doesn't exist, where did they come from in the first place, eh?)
Anyways, give Traci in National Parts (Elkhart) a call. She was better than awesome in helping me when we were there last month to find lots of stuff that seemed to be made of 'unobtainium' elsewhere.
Tell her I sent y'all. She and I have a running-bet that there isn't a single item/part-number in our coaches that she can't find. I thought I had a real show-stopper for her once, only to find out she already had a Post-It note of the item on her desk and in various colors.
HTH,
Ron

They are 12v. I bought a couple at Lazy Days 5 years ago for my old Vectra. You can also get them at any GM dealer. GM used them in interior dome lights.
You can also get them at:

Awesome - thanks for the suggestions, guys. I will probably stop by a GM dealer in the next couple of days to see if they carry them in-house. I am tired of those step lights being dark
Ron - I will give Traci a call. I have another part that nobody seems to know about - the snap disk limit switch from my fridge. Everyone looks at me like an alien when I ask about it. She sounds like the one I need to find!
Thanks again -

digNbubbs....Did you try a local auto parts store. I know they sell them, some are different sizes. A lot of new cars use them as dome lights.

I have looked in auto parts stores from Florida to Cali. Also Radio Shack, Best Buy, Fry's, hardware stores, etc. I have started looking at anywhere that looks like they sell bulbs of any kind.
Lots of the auto parts stores have them, but they are much smaller or much larger (physical size) that what I need.
I didn't have the chance today, but will probably order from Tom N's source tomorrow.
Thanks -

kev,
What is the length of your bulb? I saw some at my dealer's today. They looked the same, but he had two length's.

Roland - I would call it about an 1.25" long -
biglarry - that is a great idea. Did you go with the LEDs on the festoon mount, or did you do something a bit more custom?
Thanks again for the input -

Another place to check for bulbs is a marine supply store. I have had success finding odd shaped bulbs of various power. Here in Western Washington we have West Marine and Boaters World. Both have websites if a store is not clsoe to your location.
A fair amount of hardware, clips, knobs and misc. pieces are sold at these stores as well.

Kev, I believe you may be looking for a WAGNER 5-watt bulb Number 11007. I have some and they measure 1 3/8 inch long. If that is longer than your bulb, then this is not the one you are looking for

Hi Kev -
Any luck on the sticky foam insulation? Seems like everyone overlooked it.
I, for one, am not sure I understand what it is you're looking for, to tell the truth. Do you mean the stuff that looks like thicker-than-normal electrical tape under the black-metal surround of the window-frame itself?

Glenn - sounds about right. Where did you find them?
I have not found the weather strip yet ronboc. I will take a picture of it tomorrow (must be the only thing I don't have a picture of ). It is a foam-ish weatherstrip that goes around the perimeter of the window frame. The window opens up as an emergency hatch - two red-handled levers open it up and it swings out from the bottom. There is one up front and one in the rear of the coach.
