Long time 5th wheelers looking to move to a MH. Wife and I like the Camelot 42PDQ which have become more appealing with prices in the 220's for a well equipped coach.

So with the recent issues with Monaco and Navistar is it better to wait and see how it shakes out, buy now or look elsewhere?

Thanks

It sounds like a done deal with Monaco and Navistar, with there plans to continue Monacos product line I doubt if you'll see prices get any lower. The Camelot is a nice coach.....Bruce

The Camelot is my favorite coach in the entire Monaco line. Upscale, with all the optional amenities anyone would ever need, but not too lavish inside for our tastes. I would have bought one instead of the Dip, but we fell in love with the SFT floor plan, and they didn't offer it in the Camelot model. Like Bruce just said above, I don't think prices will ever be lower than right now. Just make sure you do a very thorough inspection of the manufactured "house" structure before you buy. Some have reported problems with roof cracks, but that has not been a problem for the vast majority. Most other components should have warranty guarantees from the vendors and/or an aftermarket warranty policy.

We own the same model that you are looking at and we have enjoyed it for the last three years. We are full timers so it is used every day. I think it is a very good deal.

Now that there is a deal with Navistar, I suspect that Monaco coach prices will start back up. Also, I think there will be a shortage of new coaches available since they have not been manufacturing any for the last several months. Prices could jump back up to MSRP before they fill the pipeline again.

I agree with Rob, the Camelot (and HR Sceptor) offer the most bang for the buck without being gaudy. When we purchased out Endeavor we were down to the Camelot and and HR Endeavor. We opted for the Endeavor based on price. With the deals you can get now it would be a no brainer. I would luv to trade up now but don't want to leave that much money on the table trading in an '06. You wont go wrong with a Camelot. Expanding on what Rob said above, when Monaco went to the single piece windshield ('06 I believe) they had some initial problems with the front cap but I believe those issues have been resolved.
