Does anyone know if there is any calibration settings for the Aladdin Jr.? The speed is off, which throws off the odometer, which throws off the fuel mileage and tank stats and such.

I have not called Monaco yet, but I am sure they will say it is a dealer-serviceable item. Wondered if anyone has "hacked" the A-jr

Oh boy, this is one I gotta watch. I love to learn about this kinda stuff (especially on someone else's coach).

I know there's a row of dip-switches on the back of the speedo to cal it, but dunno how they relate to the Aladdin. The speedos are made by "Beebe", good info on their website that might help.

I when I got my coach, it didn't have an Aladdin so I bugged Tech Support to see if it was possible to add one on. Got a lot of schematics/diagrams, but finally convinced myself it wasn't worth the trouble (but it could be done, if anyone is contemplating it). So I know there's info out there. Give 'em a call.

HTH,
Ron

My guess would be that it is getting a signal directly from the PCM (main computer, powertrain control module, whatever). My extended guess is that the Aladding is not interpreting the pulse from the PCM correctly, and it would take a slight adjustment.

The above guess is a result of installing a GPS system in a late model Mustang. The GPS took a signal from the PCM, and also showed MPH via the GPS reading. The two on the Mustang were very close. The reading on the Knight is about 4MPH fast at 60MPH on the Aladdin.

I will udate if I get anything back from Monaco about this.

Our 04 Imperial has the Alladin system. There is a difference in the odo and speedo readings. The Alladin speedo reading matches closely the reading from the GPS. The dash speedo is not close to the Alladin or GPS reading. Right now the dash odo reads 41966.1 and Alladin has 42052.7

I will post up the difference in mine when I get back there this evening. I have ~10,300 miles on mine now, and there is a notable difference between the two.

Suprisingly, my dash speedo is extremely close to two different GPS devices I have compared to. When I first noticed the two were off, I figured the digital one to be more accurate. I was wrong (again).

Hey Kev...
It sounds like you have analog to digital distortion, which when done inverse is digital to analog inverse magnitude driven. You need an analog Nanometer set to reverse mode to sync your devices.

Or you can just live with the small issue and realize it don't matter much.

Sorry, this is my first post here as I am now worthy and an owner of a new Diplomat...

Steve

Kev...

My Aladdin is off also, the odometer says: 3554.3 miles
The Aladdin says: 3533.7 miles so if you [or I] do the math...
You will find that it is [one or the other/or both by a combined] off by: .58%
Point .58%... so less than 1% off just over ½ of 1% so I am going to live with it for now...
3533.7 miles driven
463.6 gallons fuel used
7.6 miles per gallon
48.6 MPH average since we drove off the lot in Indiana...

Close enough...

Or if you add point .58 % more miles you still are getting 7.6 [7.6667] MPG!
