I have been looking at the Camelot (42'). Since I have never owned a Monaco I have several questions you good folks could help me with.
Anyone with any experiences with the Camelot, good features/bad what to look for etc.? Second, do you ever have trouble of any kind with the air bags, how long do they last? I would be coming from a Spartan Chassis to the Roadmaster. Third, when it says Air Leveling, is the Coach leveling via these Air Bags at rest/parked only, and do you have to be MORE aware of your parking space (unlevel ground/pavement etc.) than you would with jack leveling? OK, maybe one more question and I'll listen for awhile, I've been told that the new All ULSD engines produce more heat and this is apparent after a long run in the rear of the Coach area, anyone experiencing this?

Hi Robert -

We're really glad to have you here on the Monaco forum are looking forward to reading your posts about your new Camelot (we all know it's a done-deal, right?). We're all ready and willing to help with any questions. Let us know the delivery date. I guess helping your friend look for the CB-wire in his '06 Diplomat made you a convert.

I went from gas-chassis(s? es? i?) to Roadmaster and I gotta tell you there is absolutely NO comparison, but dunno about Spartans - altho I've heard similar comments. Never heard of problems with 'em either, they are very stout material.

I wish I had air-leveling on mine (it has jack-levels), and have watched a lot of air-leveler coaches and never saw any issues. Maybe other air-folks can chime in...

I too have heard that with the new engines, but don't know if it's true or just a topic for the tv-show MythBusters some day. You might do a Search or post that in the "Problems, Solutions & Aftermarket" forum, there may be more info there.

Good luck, keep us posted!
Ron

Robert M,

I'm on my second Monaco product and 02 Diplomat and now an 07 Dynasty. Have yet to have air bag problem one.

Concerning being more attentive about level sites. Since getting the Dyansty I will tell you that I am a little more discerning about my sites, think more do to length than anything. However I feel this to will pass over time as I get more expericned with the system. I feel I was the same way when I first got the Dip back in 02.

I have not experinced any noticable difference in the temp in the rear of the motor home after a long run. Have only made two significant trips one to Miami and the other to Western Pa. I'm sure my wife would have been harping about the heat if she would have noticed it. Not one peep out of her on either trip.
