Gonna sign for a 42PDQ as soon as they can come up with a fix that will allow the backup camera to see further back than the hood of the toad. Has anyone managed to rig a fix for this poor excause for a backup camera? Dealer is trying through Monaco but Monaco sales gave me the broke as designed answer. Guess its purpose is to make sure the tow bar is still there. Just don't want to have to cob up something on a brand new coach.

yes.. DH, SacsTC has been working on a fix for our 2007 Diplomat. I will try to go out now and take a picture of what he has done so far and post the pics a little later. It does take a little bit of work ... but it has improved the view 1000% !

MonacoMama thanks for the info .. I checked the web site. I have not gotten anything else yet. I still would like Monaco to come up with something. The idea of a "wedge" is also the best we have been able to do at this point.
Thans again

Jim

Did you look at the 2006 model?? It may have a different mount for the camera. Ronboc does not have the problem but I do. His is 2006. Also I think that dignbubbs also does not have the problem in the 2006 knight.
I have not heard of anyone in an 06 with the problems, only the 07's. Maybe they could just change the housing with a 2006 for you.

Are the '07s motorized? Mine will move up and down. I can see straight down the back of the coach and pan up and see the roof of the Jeep and a bit behind.

Kev..
The '07's are motorized. It would move up and down..from just under the camera mount to about half way down the toad. We have been frustrated with this problem with this one camera mount. It has been the only back up camera on our three rigs that show us nothing behind us.

I am still talking to Monaco to see what they can come up with. So far the official answer seems to be working as designed but everyone will admit that it just ain't right. As some of you know if you point it down all the way all you can see is the back cap and maybe a little of the hitch and all the way up you get to see the hood of the toad. I will let everyone know what happens.
I appreciate all the help I have gotten here..
Anyone near Quartzsite????
