Camelot Coach Cover
We go to the Keys for the winter, but don't stay in the coach. It is stored outside in a lot.
The coach gets so bad from the salt air and uv's that I have to do a complete detail and wax and detail of the bright work, every year.
Thinking about a cover for the coach. Not sure what to get. They range from cheap to real expensive. Anyone have a recommendation*??
I have been using tire covers for years.
Thanks.

I use Elements Cover, very large, be careful installing. I use it for Nov-Jan while in storage.

Thanks for your post
I see it's made in China. I tend to try and use manufactured things made in USA. We have a Camping World here in Indy I may run down there and see what they have. I didn't know if anyone had a trick cover that worked well in the salt air and heat in south FL.

I do too, I have owned several others. Elements worked and lasted the longest. MHO

I've had several RV covers. The longest one (Classic Accessories Heavy Duty RV cover) lasted 2 years but most of the covers lasted only 1 year (Adco Designer cover). The sun deteriorates them rapidly and then the wind whips them around tearing the cover. You will see some covers have a lifetime guarantee but make sure you read the fine print as they only allowed 1 replacement.
They are also very difficult to install and remove. Do not even attempt it if there is a strong wind. You and the cover will end up in the next county.
I assume you have searched for an indoor storage facility?

No indoor facilities in the Keys since Irma came thru. I am trying to decide whether to pay $600 for a cover or pay the detailer $700 to wax and buff and do the bright work when we get back from Florida.
Thanks for the input.

We have gone through two of the Elements All Climate(the tan with white roof) covers in less than two years on our 43' Camelot. The white top has some sort of tan coating on the underside. The tan coating on the underside flakes off in tiny pieces. This causes two problems: one, it makes a mess all over the roof of the coach and is like a super fine dust that gets everywhere when you pull the cover off. The bigger problem is that the white roof becomes incredibly brittle once the tan underside wears off. So much so that gently pulling it to adjust the cover causes a rip.
Camping World said in our full AZ sun the roof just won't hold up. So...I am upgrading to the Camco Ultra Shield cover. They claim the roof material will hold up much better. I should get 2-3 years out of it. I can live with that considering how brutal our heat is here.
I always get their extended warranty so when I exchange the cover I just have to pay for a new warranty. It sucks but in the scheme of things a couple hundred bucks every couple of years is a pretty good deal.

DO you buy it from Camping World or on line? Can you get the extended warranty if you buy on line?
Thanks

I called them yesterday and they said to order on line. I think that's the way to go.
Thanks
