I just registered with IRV2 and did so with some hope that someone out there can help us with the problem on a recently purchased used 2005 Monaco Camelot.

1. The Aladdin system is not functioning for the tank capacity. I took the RV back to CW where I purchased it from and they tell me the service module is bad and Aladdin is no more. Which means no monitoring of levels. Any other systems and how much?

2. The coach is making a puffing tapet sounding noise under excelleration and on our first trip out along with this noise, the engine temp was very high, not due to lack of fluids. A fellow RVr at the camp site suggested that an injector was bad. Not sure if this diagnosis is correct however when I called Camping World in Mesa AZ. where the coach was purchased less than 2-weeks prior, that they did not have the diagnosis equipment to check, and I would have to take the RV to a Freightliner repair. Odd that the coach does not have a Freightliner chassis, but they also said that was bought as is and tuff.

Mike -- I would have Massey`s Diesel in Phoenix check your engine out -- Tom can tell you what`s wrong , & they are reasonable -- They work on motorhomes -- Phone # 602-233-1700 -- 1417 S. 59th Ave Phoenix -- Don`t know about your Aladdin, but I have a 07 Camelot, with the Aladdin Jr. & it don`t have tank readings -- Aladdin was a Monaco product, but after Navastar took over, Aladdin is no more -- Bill

Mike,

If you are referencing your holding tank levels then take a look at the Sea level monitorning system. SeeLevel II Tank Monitor RV Camper - $489.99

For engine, fuel, speed etc, monitorning Silver leaf VMspc is the choice. SilverLeaf Electronics, Inc. | Knowledge is Horsepower

As to the aladdin system, save your money. I tried every thing to get it to work on my 2004 Monaco Camelot, purchased senders still no positive readings It was a waste of time. I installed the Seelevel unit. I also added seconded seelevel read out in wet bay. Problem solved.
The engine problem is best sorted out at a diesel engine place.

Mike -- When was your motorhome purchased?-- The engine has a 5 year warranty from the date of purchase, no matter if original owner or not -- If you don`t know the purchase date, call Cummins with the serial # -- Several years ago I had a Cummins problem -- I don`t know how many previous owners the coach had -- Called Cummins, & it still had 5 days left on the warranty -- The engine had a cracked head, & all was covered -- The service manager at Massey`s (Tom) can probably just listen to the engine & tell what the problem is, & stay away from CW -- Bill Willard

I second what Bill said about Tom and Massey's. A very good outfit.

Mike it is very possible the tank capacities and the empty and full values are not set correctly in your Aladdin. Look though you gray owners file and see if you have any references to the tank values for the Aladdin, a one page sheet. If you have these you can access the system setup screen by entering the code of 1218. Once in go to the tank system and see what values and tank capacities are entered. If you don't have the above sheet email me and I can scan and send you mine as I think the tanks are the same as my '04 Windsor. pcarrell at pvtnetworks.net.
