Unhappy Camey's Last Ride.....

I was getting ready Thanksgiving morning to head out on Friday. Turned the fridge on, came back 15-20 minutes later and she was ablaze. Took FD 1 1/2 hours and 6000+ gallons of water to get her out.

I miss her already!

Hi Carl & Barb; What a great looking coach it must have been. Sorry for your loss. I have visited salvage yards on-line and see this on many coaches. Can I ask the name of the refer. manufacture or is it a no brainer? Again, sorry for your loss.

Might need more than one fiberglass repair kit!!

But all kidding aside, that's too bad. Hopefully you can find another one just as good.

Very sad
A Big loss.
About 3 weeks ago I was at a M.H. salvage and 5 or 6 had come in that week looking about like your picture.

2 were still on low boy trailers fresh off the road.
Sick.

Quick question - Assuming it was a Norcold, do you know if it had the mod on the refrigerator that was intended to protect against such fires? I'm wondering if the recall modification was there, and failed to do its job!

I am SOOO sorry about your loss. What a mess, what a disappointment, what an expense, but thank God no one was injured, or worse. Wow!

Am I looking at this right? From the outside, the hole appears to be in the driver's side, but the inside pic appears to show the kitchen on the passenger side. WAS it the fridge? I realize that's the conclusion that I immediately jumped to, either the Dometic exploding fridge, or the Norcold self combusting one, but was that what really happened?

Carl & Barb, sorry for your loss, but please remember, in the long run, it's just stuff, and stuff can be replaced. No one was hurt.

Looks like the fridge was across from the galley. You can see part of the cooling unit on the ground in the first pic.
