Can't find 'Repairing Entry Step' thread...
Some time ago (maybe as much as a few years) someone had posted a nice thread about their repair/refurbishment of the entry step, complete with some pictures. I did a search and found a lot of related posts/threads, but not the one I was looking-for. And I don't remember the title of the thread nor who actually posted it.
While replacing the step-motor (AGAIN! I think this is the 4th time!), I figured I'd get into the refurb task while I was there, and was hoping to find the thread again because (as I remember, anyways) it had several great tips and ideas. Anyone got it bookmarked?
If anyone has done this, I'd appreciate hearing from them too. The step lives in a fairly-hostile environment, and I'm looking for suggestions on: degreasing, removing rust, repainting, etc. So far, I took it all apart and hit it with Purple-Power degreaser and then got the rust off with a wire-wheel on a drill, and now am waiting for a coat of Ospho to dry before I spray it.
BTW, I have the 2-step Coach-Step (now Lippert, I think) on an '06 Endeavor, but I don't think the particulars are that specific.
Thanks in advance.
PS: I'm starting another thread about the motor.
