Just throwing a little caution to the wind here.... MblCndo was there for about 3 weeks having a few things completed. When we finally picked it up and as we were heading down the 215 I noticed that the tank, which was full when we dropped it off, but now reading a little under 1/2 full. Since we were heading out of town for a little R&R, I pulled into a station to pay homage to evil corporate god of diesel fuel. #*$&^$#( no #*$^@($ key for the fuel access door. Whoever siphoned our tank actually went through the trouble of taking the darn gas key off our ring; no doubt to come back later when they needed another refill. I called and griped, but when you're out in the middle of nowhere needing gas, it adds a whole new meaning to the term desperate. Needles to say we cut our trip short and put the beast into storage until "things" could be sorted out with the dealer. This wouldn't bother me half as much if diesel fuel was still $.52 a gallon, but at $4.50+++, it's quite a hefty theft.
Just a note on Canyon-RV, this is not meant to bash or otherwise disparage C-RV, they really do great work and do everything possible to exceed the customer's expectations. I don't believe that this was entirely their fault, but it did happen while they had possession of my RV and I am missing a key and a lot of fuel. We'll see how they rectify this situation.
The purpose here is merely an alert to those of you in SoCal that use Canyon RV for your RV service needs. Keep using them, but please check your gas level and your key ring before and after to make sure you still have both!!

I don't know about Canyon in particular but I have seen dealers using portable pumps to take fuel out of one lot coach to get another one up to a point to run the gen set and do road tests. Another dealer (Giant) did that in order to keep the genny running while we looked at the coach. We had looked at the coach but were sweating our patoots off cause the fuel was too low to run the genny. We went off to look at a coach down the street at another dealer and I saw the lot guy siphoning fuel from another coach and taking a 5 gal can over to the one we looked at. We then went back and the genny was running.
It's possible that a lot boy or sales rep didn't know your coach wasn't theirs but I'd find that hard to believe.

Canyon RV, the final saga...
Once again, I was siphoned. I dropped it off and the needle read ¼ tank full, they confirmed that. When I picked it up yesterday it read less than 1/8th and my low fuel warning light came on. Canyon RV had agreed to make good on the first tank I lost, which they didn't. They also agreed to give me a new key for the fuel fill door, which they didn't. Not sure how the fubar was perpetuated, but it was. The service technician that released the RV to me yesterday knew nothing about the gas agreement or the missing key. He did take his master gas key off his ring and gave it to me; that's good because I would never have made it back home on the remaining fuel. Then it was trying to find a station in the area that would accommodate a 41 foot long RV and another 20 feet of toad and hitch. I finally found a station, the darn pump stopped after $50 worth a fuel (criminy, that's barely enough to fill a honda), so it took several "fill attempts" at $4.40 a gallon to fill it up. A half hour or so later I was off and headed home...

I find if you go inside with your card they can over ride the limit.

If this happen to you twice at the same dealer I would be highly p***ed off, I would have also called the police and reported it. Then the dealer management and I would have had a "coming to god" meeting. You work hard all your life and then some lowlife thinks he can just take a short cut and help himself to it.

I received a call from Canyon RV this afternoon. Apparently they didn't do ANY work on the RV either; it was in there for three items, one was the wiper recall retrofit. They tell me that it was tucked away in the back corner of their lot and they simply never got to it (evidently someone got to it - or at least got to the tank); yet they call and tell me to come pick it up, go figure! I was a little more than miffed before, now I'm somewhere between livid and "bing!".
I do apologize to everyone, it wasn't my intention to air my ill feelings towards my situation, so I'll drop this here and now. After all, when you have a Monaco Motorhome, there's always great times right around the next corner!!

MBL,
If you can't find another dealer then I would suggest that next time you do not leave the Canyon RV until the manager makes sure your coach is taken to where ever they purchase their diesel and replace your fuel. If this happens enough then the dealership will make an effort to correct the problem at the source.
Sorry for you troubles and hope it does not happen again.
Bob

Mbl Condo; I am sorry to hear about your problems, this is the reason we never leave the rig with ANYONE, if we are not with it, it does not get fixed. I realize sometimes that is not possible, but in our case that is the way it will be. I love the Monaco service center for this exact reason. I would MAKE sure they did not bill Monaco for work they did not do, your paperwork with Monaco might show they did the recall on the wipers. I would let the manager know what has been going on and if possible make sure they reimburse you for your fuel.
