Captains chair issue

My friend Benny is driving our RV at the moment, and yesterday he discovered that the passenger side chair had developed a problem: The chair will not slide forwards/backwards and the leggrest will not operate.

He has checked that there are a 12V supply to the chair, but neither of the 2 motors are operating. He tells me that he can hear "a click" when pressing the switches. Is there a relay that could have failed somewhere?

Any thoughts appeciated

HB,
Fuse #33 is for driver and #34 is for co-pilot seat but since 12VDC is at the seat, shouldn't be a fuse. As fuses are 15 amp, there would be no need for a "power" relay. Sounds to me like a plug under the seat is unplugged or "almost" unplugged and not making good contact.
Keep in mind that Monaco was/is big on switching the GROUND side of circuits so make sure that a ground exists on that side of the motors....

I've had issues with the connector that attaches the wire harness coming from the floor to the chair. It is designed for much lower power transfer and uses cheap connector pins that will corrode and limit power transfer.

I replaced the connectors with these from Amazon, much better. Amazon.com : CES 12 Gauge 2 Pin Quick Disconnect Harness : Automotive Electrical Wiring Harnesses : Car Electronics

I ran into a problem where the footrest wouldn't operate, and that turned out to be a bad motor. But if it's the footrest AND the sliding operations, it's unlikely that two motors failed at the same time.

I would hazard a guess that the "click" he hears is really the motor trying to start to move, but not having enough power to accomplish anything. I tend to agree with the others: look for a bad connection somewhere: poor ground, corroded or burnt connector pins, loose connector, or other similar situations.

You say he says it has 12 volts: measure the voltage at the motor while trying to operate the motor. I'm sure he's going to see that it's low. Now follow the wiring back, checking the voltage while trying to run the motor: at some point, he's going to get full voltage. The bad connection will be somewhere between the last point where he's getting reduced voltage, and the first point where he's getting full voltage.
