WE have the 2006 HR Endeavor with the Carefree Eclipse electric patio awning. For the second time the motor has failed. The first time we were traveling on interstate and the motor gave way and the awning started waving in the wind. I say the motor, actually it is the little wheels in the motor that gave way. This time we just arrived at Mission TX. for the winter and looked out the door of the MH and the awning was about 6 inches from the wall of the MH. When I tried to move it to put it in, the litle gears gave way and the awning fell to the open position. Now it won't go in. It will move slightly when the power is applied but wont't go any farther. Carefree says it is under warrenty for 4 yr's but wont' cover the trip charge for the mechanic to come and fix it. I only wrote this post to inform the members that if you have one of these Eclipse awnings, please beware of it.

At least yours didn't deploy at 65 mph like mine did. The bronze gears broke, while the motor was still good. Being in 30 mph cross winds on the side of the interstate, I had to cut the awning material off, as there was too much sail area to roll up. Carefree sent a new motor assy and replacement fabric under warranty.

I have had problems with the slack in my slide awnings since the first month of taking delivery of my coach. I called Carefree and they were no help at all, they told me that they were cut properly and there is nothing that they can do. I can safely say that I will never recommend Carefree products or purchase anything from them ever.
