In the meantime I need some packing peanuts to keep stuff in place.

They sell rolls of bubble wrap at Walmart. That might work. :-)

Unlocked! It would cost more to replace the door than what I have stored behind it.

After many years with a fifth wheel, they broke into the main door, stole nothing because the TV was secured by the main slide. It cost me over $500 to fix the door they had pryed open. From then on, I lock nothing, even the entry door to this coach along with all the bays are unlocked at all times. Take my stuff but don't destroy my doors.

I can relate to this. Just changed rigs after 12 years and was stunned at how much useless, but "important" stuff had accumulated. New rig has less storage space and the changeover was like moving house...the dealer's dumpster got a load, the toad was filled to the rafters, the new bays were filled and several boxes were left behind for friends to bring along later.

I normally lock the bays, but might have been better to have left them open and some of this stuff would have disappeared over the years.

The DW has a "motto" when we clean out the storage bays: "if in doubt throw it out". She said if I ever need some of the stuff I have to get rid of she said I can always buy it. deSanford

Wilco1 I laughed when I read your post about the change-over. Last fall while on a month long trip which had included a good old Canadian-cross-border-to-the-USA pre Christmas shopping run, we pulled the trigger on a deal to trade our fifth wheel and truck in on a m/h. The dealership was great. They arranged a spot where we could park them door to door and laughed while we shlupped like sherpas. Much stuffing and piling but we got it all home safe and sound. We keep our bays locked while driving but leave them open when camping.
