cargo heater

Does anyone have a source for the infamous cargo heater in monaco products. Monaco wants a fortune. The manufacturer will not sell direct. I have seen a reference to Mega RV parts but cannot find them any longer on the web. I know about other alternative heaters and now have one but want a 12 volt system as backup when not running generator while dry camping. Thanks in advance.

Bench,
Give these guys a look for your heater. They bought all the parts from Monaco National Parts in Harrisburg Oregon. May have your needs.

These heaters will draw 20 amps, so not great for dry camping. I got ours, which never worked other than the fan, replaced by Camping World. It worked once and then back to just fan blowing. I read a post on Monacoers or MCOA that a fuse inside the heater can be replaced cheaply from Radio Shack, but am not that talented to try it. I will just put a 100 watt light bulb on a trouble light inside the bay, but I live in North Florida.

These heaters are notoriuosly bad. The issue is the damage they may cause if everything freezes up.
I replaced mine with a small 120V heater from Walmart. It has a thermostat on it and two settings. I just put it on the low setting and plug it in when the temp is below 32.
