the previous owner had run a thick bead of silicone caulk across the gutter between the slide out awning assembly and the coach. when i looked between the awning and the top of the slide out, i saw where it was dripping rain water to the top of the slide out. i want to remove the silicone and reapply another bead of caulk to seal this. what type of caulk should i use? thanks. 2008 monarch

I've used a dozen different caulks on mine trying to find the right one. A few years ago I found it.....proflex. I get it at the rv dealership here and it is far and away the best caulk I've ever used. I now use it on everything. It sticks like glue and stays flexible. Along the front edge of my 5er I had to replace the caulk every year and some caulks every 6 months due to them cracking. I'm assuming from the flex that goes on up there towing. I'm on year 3 with proflex and still no cracking and it's stayed bonded to both sides of the seam.
