08' Camelot 'should' have all 3 drain valves in the gen compartment.
There will be a 4th at the top of the header which does'nt have a drain valve. This is the connector you would use to air your tires. The three with drain valves are front tank wet side / dry side, and rear tank.

Just a quick point, there will be no pressure in the dryer after it purges. The air is contained in the tanks, with check valves, after the dryer.

If that wasn't the case, every time your dryer purged, your first tank would empty thru the dryer.

Not a bad thing to drain tanks anyway. You get to see if water or oil is getting into the system.

There is a publication called " Air Brakes 2007 " that can be downloaded. It will explain the whole system.

Well, tell my dryer that then, cause it will purge some air 15min after I shut the engine down!

I for one have never heard one do that after the engine is shut down
Maybe a check valve is not working properly? in the system?

The purge happens on Rising Pressure which can't happen with the engine shut off.

Dennis, it's not a full blown chuff that you hear when the system reaches 125psi. It feels and sounds like about 10 -15psi release lasting about 10 seconds.

Interesting, I have not heard (or maybe paid attention to) mine do that.

The the compressor stops pumping and the air dryer purges, when the governer senses around 125 lbs. That signal comes from the wet tank, the first tank, after the dryer and check valve.

You could have an automatic, tank purge valve, that is screwed into the bottom of the wet tank that is purging, that you are hearing.

Nope, coming from the bottom purge on the dryer. Mine is mounted right behind the hood, easy to access. I've felt the air releasing !
