My passenger seat on my (new to me) Knight is very wobbly and the drivers seat has gone from hard to swivel to unable to swivel. Thankfully it's facing forward. So, I think I have the correct bearings, any tips on replacing them?

Thanks in advance!

Eric

Most likely they are Villa seats. Call Mike Rameriz at Villa (562)404-8111 or email him at mike@villainternational.com. Have you checked to see that the bolt going through the middle of the swivel hasn't just come loose?

Thanks Mike, you're pretty good at long distance troubleshooting. The castled nut WAS loose on the pass seat (and the cotter pin was missing). It looks like my '06 Knight has KustomFit seats. I'll call them tomorrow and ask about a torque spec for that nut...I do have a torque wrench on board.

The drivers seat looks fine underneath, so I'm not sure why the lever isn't releasing it to swivel....a good project for tomorrow.

Again, many thanks for the help!

Eric

I doubt there is a torque spec on it because it is designed to be loosely tight so the seat can swivel. If too tight it can't swivel and thus the reason for the castled nut and cotter pin. Rock the good seat to see how loose and tighten it up the same and make sure it can still swivel and insert a cotter pin. As faras the swivel release some have a cable from the lever on the side to the release under the seat and there will be a threaded adjustment on the end like on a bicycle brake cable. You might be able to adjust that and make the swivel lock release.

Without the seat on, I tightened mine till I could turn the bearing by hand without it moving on its own. With the seat on, it swivels easily and with just the right amount of 'snugness'. While your in there, lube with white lithium..
