Has anyone out there ever changed from a chair style dinette to a booth style? Our last coach had a booth and when we purchased our DP it had a chair style dinette. We thought we would like the chairs but found we like the booth better. Is this conversion a simple job?? I would have to order a booth from a RV furniture supplier so it may not be financial feasable to change. Perhaps we will have to like the chairs. Any thoughts?? Our coach is a 2005 Holiday Rambler Sceptre with leather sofa and lounge.

Not sure if we have a RV furniture supplier up here in Canada so would have to order and bring across the border....customs, shipping etc...Sounds expensive the more I think about it. I went on the web and found a leather booth for $1200.00 American.....ouch....
Thx
Ted

There are usually more people looking to change the other way. You might post on a few different sites and see if anyne has saved their booths.

Monaco will still do woodwork if you call. I've had them make a couple of cabinet doors (they came out as a perfect match in design and stain). They should still have the plans for the booth cabinets/bases and they can match whatever wood you have. It will be costly, but maybe close to what a cabinet shop might charge, but you would be getting the exact configuration they sold in that coach minus the cushions.

I swapped our dinette out for a flex steel ultra leather convertible booth. It only took an evening to install the booth. I had to build a custom setup to make the Corian table removable. That took a litle more time. It made it a little more cramped when the slides are in, but the additional sleeping was needed.

Tedde: There are no mfrs. of RV furniture that sell to the public in Canada. Sometimes a booth needs to be custom made. There is a cabinet shop near the Oregon factory that has done all kinds of mods to Monacos. They have the right wood and stains. Somewhere I have a link to a wrecker that has a lot of later model Monacos. I am sure he has a booth. You could also get a local cabinet maker to make booth. Is your wood Oak or?? It is not that complicated if the floor is flat.

It is much easier to go to a booth, because the booth is fastened to the wall and leaves a lot of holes when removed. You can buy booths and chairs, etc. from Bradd and Hall. They are online.

Thanks to all who replied..I will check with Monaco and Bradd and Hall to see what the cost would be..Never thought about getting a local furnature maker to make it..Perhaps this is not a good swap..We would be doing this for comfort and not sleeping arrangements. Our wood is oak....We would still use the present corrian table top..

Thx
Ted

I'm sure you'll get plenty of input as eveyone has their own likes. We had the booth in our previous motorhome but prefer the table and chairs in this one.

We've always stayed with a booth. Ours have long drawers in each "seat." Wife has one drawer loaded with cat food, the other with canned stuff for us.
