Morning all, new to the forum and have a 02" Windsor and looking for help/ideas with batteries not charging on shore power. spent all day yesterday trouble shooting. Getting power to the motorhome okay, charged up batteries with motor running. Opened the transfer switch box and getting power but green lite does not come on... invertor seems okay, rebooted per manual, but will not show charging lite on panel in cabin. keeps showing batteries charged up lite but know they are at 65% +/-.
Thx,
Bob

So the house batteries are not charging, is there 120 volts going into the inverter?

Bob how did you reboot I assume it a Trace did you turn off all electricity, unhook the shore power, turn off the batteries, cover the solar panel if you have them, turn the inverter switch off and disconnect the ground lead first. then remove the hot lead and wait for 15 to 30 minutes. this should reboot it. Reconnect everything in reverse order except external shore power. Make sure you turn the inverter switch on then go to the remote panel and select invert to check it. You probably have a RC7 remote control I will try to attach a instruction sheet that Bob G. did a few yrs ago that helps me understand it a little better.

Thx for the advise and details Walt...we rebooted as you said but still no charging lite at the remote panel. Also I had asked should the chip located in the Transfer Switcher Box show a lite? We are pretty savy guys on trouble shooting and most electrical but really has us stumped need to hit the road Thursday. Thx in advance for any help from the forum!!
Bob

There should be a switch in the transfer switch to bypass the 20-30 second time delay. If the LED is not on flip this switch then test voltage at the battery terminals. If power is getting thru the inverter/charger to the batteries the voltage at the batteries should be between 13.4 and 13.8 volts. If this corrects your problem you need a new control module in the transfer switch.

Only switch was on the curcuit board inside the Transfer Switch box, choices were ON and 1. No change by switching, still not showing charging on the remote control panel... fyi- batteries good, getting power to the Inverter, engine charges the batteries fine, only thing we have not tried is using the generator but main tank fuel is too low so guess we will pull it out tomorrow and hit the truck stop for fuel. Sure welcome any other ideas.
Thx,
Bob

My Trace Inverter has a led display with --OFF...SRCH...ON....CHG. If it is not on - ON or CHG - there is no charging of any batteries. The cursor moves down the row one at a time under the first letter of each option with every push of the button.Dave

So you have power to the inverter but the batteries aren't charging from shore power but are charging from the engine. Are you getting DC output from the inverter? If you are then the only item left to check is the 150-200 amp inline fuse at the batteries that protect the inverter when supplying AC. The battery connection are OK because they're being charged by the motor. Just verify that you have both AC input and DC output at the inverter.

By the way, if you don't have a green light on the control board in the transfer switch you have a bad control board, so you need to verify that.
