I recently purchased a 2003 Monaco Camelot 36 PST and have read about recalls on some of the Monaco Roadmaster Chassis. I think mine is a RR8S but how can I check to confirm? Also is the Roadmaster Chasis still being manufactured?

My notes show it is an RR8S also. The RR stands for raised rail, the 8 is how many airbags and the S means side radiator. So if the radiator is in the back behind the motor it would be an RR8R. Usually the bigger motors had the side radiators like the 400 and the smaller 350's had the side radiators.

Good Morning catch14me...

I will try this again since I just lost my post.... (This one will be more direct and to the point.)

Your Camelot is on an RR8S chassis. You can find that info and more at this link.
Mike Canter is correct in his explanation about the RR8R being rear radiator and the RR8S being a side radiator...but he is incorrect about the side-mounted having the smaller engines- You will find most - or maybe even all - the high line Monaco rigs with the side mounted radiators. Many of these rigs tend to have the larger engines also.

The Roadmaster Chassis recall was only on the 4 bag chassis from Roadmaster so you are not included. The recall was being handled by putting the same trailing arms on when the first set failed. Many people decided to put the Source Arms on in order to have a safer RV. The recall also died when Monaco Coach went into bankruptcy courts. Monaco RV LLC is not responsible for any recalls from the former company.

The RoadMaster chassis is still being manufactured.

I hope I answered all your questions...

MonacoMama you are right I said "side" the second time vice "rear". a senior moment. What I really intended to say was:

Usually the bigger motors had the side radiators like the 400 and the smaller 350's had the rear radiators.
