Chewed leather...

Hi All,

Been having some pesky rodent issues we've been dealing with. Now the little SOB's chewed and tore up our leather couch while we were out of town.

Question; Has anyone ever sourced out the OEM cream colored leather that was used pretty regularly used in Monaco's line?? Would like to find the same fabric or perhaps replace the lower valance/drawer that was damaged.

Thanks in advance!

Depending on how extensive the damage is you could have one of the repair
places repair it . Some of those people are absolutely amazing the way they
can match and blend in repairs .
We had a rip in the couch and dash repaired and we could never tell where it
was . That was about 6 yrs ago and its still perfect .
If you have a RV dealer near you call them and ask who they use .

I'd check out fiber renew to see if they can fix it. They did great with my driver and passenger seats.

Those pesky vermin will multiply faster than you can get rid of them so don't
wait around .
I had an invasion too . I was catching one along thinking I was doing good
then I finally realized I wasn't even keeping up .
I went to Wal -mart and bought about twenty of the cheapest glue traps and
placed them every where I could in my storage bays and a few inside .
They were not going to be able to walk around down there with out getting trapped .
That seemed to work , I have now caught 10 or 12 , I lost count but I have not
caught any more recently . I have my fingers crossed hoping they are all gone .

What was your location for those pests? I am doing a survey on geological locations with the peskiest pests.
Thank you.

Thanks Ray, I’ll try and give a few places a call and see if I can get any leads... I think the damage is beyond repair.. I think the panel will need to be replaced unfortunately.

I tried a few glue trap on the genset where I’ve noticed lots of nesting debris and droppings.. the 4 glue traps I put there were literally gone in the morning. No site of them any where!!

My location is N.E. Tex we live rural , don't know if that makes a difference
Mice and rats are everywhere .

4 glue traps gone seems like something bigger than mice on the gen .
You can have both rats and mice , you will see a significant difference
in the size of the droppings .

Try putting the glue traps abutting each other so as they struggle they
can become ensnared in an other trap too .

The buggers are smart enough to learn to avoid traps

Knock on wood I'm not seeing any new signs of mice , I'm hoping the
word is out , don't go in there .

Monaco diesel coaches used Villa International furniture.

They use real leathers from Garret Leather or Optima Leather. They also used UltraLeather performance fabrics on some coaches.

You can contact Mike at Villa International with your build number and he can look up your original seats. 562-404-8111
Also, you can sometimes find the seat order form stuffed up under the couch or chairs and it will give you the material and color.
