Hi all;
I currently own a 32 foot class A motorhome, and have been considering trading to a smaller class B or C rig. I am particularly interested in the Holiday Rambler Augusta 293TS or the Safari Damara 293TS. I prefer the Ford chassis, but the Chevy chassis is OK too.

Would appreciate any owners of these rigs to advise on their experiences with ownership of these models, good or bad. We,ve been class C owners in the past, but have had our Allegro for nearly five years now, and its time for a change.

Bob

Bob,

You don't seem to be getting any response here. Maybe those who own the Augusta or Damara spend their time in the Class C forum. MM could post a link to the other forum and I am sure she will as soon as she reads this.

By the way, they sell the Augusta down the hill from you in Crossville.

Bob

Just a suggestion - you might want to check out the Mercedes (Dodge) Sprinter chassis rigs, such as the Winnebago View or Itasca Navion. Many other manufacturers have begun to offer their own versions, too.

GREAT miles per gallon! We're getting about 15 mpg when we are towing our toad.

Thanks nodine and MM. After no responses, I just forgot about my post. I am still interested in the Augusta and Damara units. They seem to pack a lot into a smaller body and both the DW and I both like driving class c's.

I have not visited Tennessee Outdoors in Crossville for a long time now. Last time we looked there, the salesman was not very helpful and was not totally honest and we have not been back. I understand there has been a lot of change there, so maybe we'll check them out again.

SeeTheUSA..thanks for the idea. I have a question; we have a Saturn SL2 as a toad and am concerned towing it behind the sprinter powered rigs. How does your View do? Thanks!

Bob

Our Scion xA weighs about 2,500 lbs. and the View tows it nicely. We typically get between 14 and 15 mpg traveling about 60-65 mph. Our View has an inline 5-cylinder 2.7 liter diesel - the new ones have a 3.0 liter V-6. I think your Saturn would tow very well.

Good luck!

We live in Crossville, TN. Tried to deal with TN. Outdoors on a Dynamax.

We ended up dealing with Cullem Maxey in Nashville, TN. on a 2008 Aspect 29H.

I bought a 2008 HR 293ts feb. 2008. went on 4 short shake down cruses. The ford E450 has lots of power. The tow haul held me on a 6% grade without braking.The 3 slides open up the unit to make it very liveable.When traveling you can keep the slides in and use every thing in the RV except the lower drawers in the bed room;as the bed is tight to it when the slide is in .Good interior height!!Shower OK ;I'm big guy but can shwr ok.So far am very pleased. Only Problem so far was paneling. Cheep staples' fixed my self.Getting ready to winter down south so am sure to have more later . Hope this is helpful. Bob

Moses;
Thanks for the information. It is good to hear that you are pleased with your rig. We'll be looking closely at some units when we head to Florida in early January.
