Currently I have a trailer that has a 30amp system but I am planning on going back to a motor home with a 50amp system. I do not have a surge guard currently. My question is could I get a Surge Gurad Model 37450 (50amp) and adapt it to the 30amp trailer supply cord and later use it on my motor home? I do plan on taking the trailer to the Rally in Oregon in July and wanted to make sure it was protected.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Jerry

Jerry I use my 50 amp surge guard portable in my garage on 30 amp when I am parked here at home. I can not see why your type will not work, you will need an adapter from 30 to the 50 amp connection. They are available most rv supply places.
Hope this helps
Rebel

Yes, all you have to have is a 50 to 30 amp plug, which you probably already have, if not you can get one at Walmart or camping world.

Just remember you are going from 2 (50 amp legs ) total 100 possible amps to a 30 amp service. It's not the same as needed 50 amps and only getting 30 amps.
