My Intellitec EMS circuit board mounted in my 50amp electrical panel is clicking rapidly when plugged into shore power. The digital display at my EMS remote panel flashes at the same pace as the clicking. I have no 120 power to the coach when this happens. This has been happening for the last couple of months but usually quits after 20 or so seconds or I unplug from shore power and plug back in. Today however I wasn't so lucky. I removed the face plate from the 50amp circuit panel and double checked to make sure all wires were tight. The clicking itself is loud and it definitely comes from the Intellitec 750 ems circuit board. Not sure if this is transfer switch related as when this original problem started two months ago, it was when i had the gen running and plugged into shore power. This syptom/noise would happen when I shut the genset off. I did a search as see some items related to the transfer switch, but didn't see anything that mentioned this loud repeat clicking from the ems circuit board. Please point me in the right direction on the trouble shooting. I'd hate to just throw parts at it by replacing the clicking EMS board. When I turn on the genset I get 120 power without a problem and the EMS board does not click which suspect the transfer switch. Not sure why the EMS board would click loudly if the transfer switch is not working though.

The transfer switch is an Iota 50amp.

You might try pulling the fuse on the EMS board behind the AC panel to reset it. If that does not restore power to the coach from the pedestal then try leaving the fuse out until you can replace the EMS board. The generator does not go through the EMS as it is primarily used to shed loads when the pedestal is only 30 amp or 20 amp. The gen can power the whole coach.

What happens if you pull the fuse from the ems? Will shore power work and inverter/charger work?

Crah,
I would check the connections in the transfer switch. The shore power contacts are loosing power because of a loose wire or one of the contacts may be burned and not making a good connection. Genny power works because you are using a different set of contacts, in the transfer switch, to pass the power to the coach.

Can the contacts be cleaned up or replaced or does the whole transfer switch need to be replaced. Thanks all for suggestions so far.

Crah,
I would disconnect the shore power and then remove the cover on the transfer switch. Do a good visual and see if the problem is obvious. If the contacts are bad then your best bet is to replace the switch assembly. From what I have read on other forums the "Iota" switch is not the best on the market

crah, Before you pull the cover off this Iota Transfer Switch make sure you are not plugged into any power and that your generator is not going to start up.

My Iota was clicking and making noise. What I found wrong with my Iota Transfer Switch was that Monaco had stuck wires under the lugs that have the allen set screws in them. I took the allen screws out and saw that the phillips head screws that mount the lugs to the relay itself were loose. I replaced all of these aluminum screws with stainless screws I bought at Lowes. I also had to replace a short white neutral jumper wire that had been so hot it had melted the insulation off the wire and was burning thru the insulation on the black load wire. I have pictures of what I found if you want to see them. George R. 2001 Diplomat

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I've narrowed it down to the transfer switch. There is a small switch on a circuit board inside the transfer switch that I turned on. I believe that is the time delay (on is bypassed). My power is working fine now.

The clicking noise itself was not coming from the transfer switch (which sits in my power cord bay behind the driver rear wheel). The clicking was coming from the EMS circuit board behind the face plate of the power distribution center in the bedroom. Looks like I need a new circuit board inside the tranfer switch.
