Code 368 and white smoke

Hope any one can help me
Lost power on my 1998 dip
Starts no problem but no power when I put foot down
Getting fault code 368
Is it possible the injector pump is ok
And it's something else
Didn't drive far after it happened
Also how do I clear the fault code on the isb
Any help would be great
Being in the UK we have limited resources
Thanks

Here's a link to the fault codes on your engine, how to check them out, and some guidance on what to do.

Good luck to you.

Have you ever drained the water out of the fuel water separator and how long has it been since you changed both fuel filters. 80% of diesel problems are simple fuel problems

Mine was in that situation when I bought it lots of smoke but no power. Turned out to be the turbocharger.

We had a slight miss at idle and lots of white smoke while running. Started it up cold and used a temperature gun on each exaust port. Sure enough one cylinder was still cold (95 degrees) while the other cylinders were going past 135. Turned out to be one bad injector for only $285.00.
I still agree with the others on the fuel filters as the first thing to check.

I looked up code 368 and it says its a fuel pump problem but
I didn't read farther .

Yep. I was told that the light blue/white smoke was an indication of diesel fuel starvation. Since your rig seems to run fine at idle but fails when you step on the accelerator this seems to underscore the fuel starvation scenario. As others have mentioned this can be anything from bad filters to a bad pump (or even a clogged fuel line). It is much less expensive to start with the filters.

Agree, I carry spare filters with me!

I had a bad injector once, gave me a little smoke but otherwise could barley tell. I noticed it only because of the smoke and had it checked at the dealer. They also replaced one of two crank angle sensors.

Had a boost sensor go out once also but only partially. Sometimes I would get no boost, other times completely normal boost, no smoke though.

Like the others said, change the filters, even if you recently did that. For about $20.00 you will have your answer. Of course, that answer might be that it did not fix it...
