Computer port on ford v10

I am still having trouble finding the computer port on my 2000 la Palma Monaco, Drifter advised me to take the steerin column cowling off but to no avail, any other suggestions raybornh

The plug is delivered from the factory with a two foot wire attached. This is so the MH manuf. can move it if the dash installation will cover it. The Ford factory usually installs it on the right side on top of the steering wheel support.
It will be black and probably have a dust cover.

It will be very hard see. You'll have to get on your back and feel around. Use a short good flashlight. About 20 multiple colored wires come out of the rear of it. Relocate it so it is easier to find next time. It is trapizodal shaped.

Larry ask me to post where I found the Ford data port and I hope I am doing this right by replying to his post. The port is located on the right side of the steering column, remove the lower cowling, it could be mounted to the steering column or on the pig tale as provided by ford. you will need a good flash light, The port itself may have a dust cover. again thanks toall who responded to my question. raybornh
