Coolant change with t stat, and hoses
Is there a write up on changing the coolant in a ISC 350? Did a quick search and I couldn't find anything. I'm planning on changing to the fleetguard OAT extended life coolant. I'd like to get all the parts ahead of time, but not sure of the hose part numbers and coolant filter number (assuming I will need a different filter without the DCA)

Here is a thread that I posted in several times after changing my ISC and Generator over to Final Charge that might be of some help to you.
http://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/cool...sh-338297.html
Gary Spires (spike45) a retired Fleetguard engineer recommend that I use Peak Final Charge when I changed mine over. It can be bought at most all Walmart/Truck stops. I ordered mine online........Walmart does not have the consecrate , And yes, install a blank filter. Fleetguard WF2070/ NAPA 4070
Hope this helps you out......

This is the procedure I followed to do mine.
First flush the old antifreeze from your system. Make sure to turn on the dash heat and aqua heat to enable the old coolant in the heater hoses to be circulated out. This may take 2-3 cycles and for this I used regular tap water. For the final flush, I used distilled water. I bought 2 gallons of the Concentrate Final Charge, and after the flushing was good, I added the concentrate (2 Gallons) to the system, as there is always some water left behind in the system after draining. Then I added the 50/50 mixture of Final Charge to fill the rest of the system. Make sure to change your coolant filter to a non SCA filter.

Thanks for the inputs. Looks like no one has been changing out their hoses or thermostats?

I have all of the hose sitting here waiting till spring. To replace them.
Called Freight liner with ser number and the emailed me a 2 page list.
Had to sort out the actual hose and ordered from Freightliner.
FL said not to put Final Charge in my ISC!
They say mine is actually a 2001 model engine.
I have the list if you would like it?

I don't have a freightliner chassis so I'm thinking the hoses won't be the same. Pretty common for the engine/chassis to be older than the coach. Not sure why they told you to not do final charge.

Freightliner may be thinking you are planning to add "Final Charge" to the existing factory-fill coolant (which would contain Supplemental Coolant Additives SCA). The Final Charge is an Extended Life (Organic Acid Technology OAT) coolant. So you can't mix the old and new.
Did FL understand that you planned to do a complete flush?

Per the Final Charge labeling, the product meets Cummins Spec CES14603.
Call Cummins help 1-800-343-7357 and see if this is OK for your model engine.
That's what I did, and they told me it was OK for mine 6C8.3
As previously stated, the key is not to mix the old and new. Do a thorough flush first and do't forget to change your filter to a NON SCA filter.
Go to the horse's mouth, not the horse's a*s.
