Hello,
Just finished changeing the oil,oil filter and both the primary and secondary fuel filters but for the life of me I can't find the coolant filter location.
Owners manual says its on the passenger side but I sure don't see it.
Anybody know where its located.
Thanks,
Letsgoagain

I have an 01 Diplomat 40PBS with a ISC-330 engine. On mine the coolant filter is on the drivers side and toward the transmission from the oil filter. It is right next to the oil filter. There is a valve at the top to turn the coolant off while changing the filter. Be careful with this valve.

Rex,
Thanks for the reply. I will look again but I don't think my coolant filter is in that location. If its not and I still can't find it then I will call Monaco and have the tech's give me a location for my year and make.
Thanks again for the help.

This is a follow up which might be useful information for anyone concerned that the SCA levels in the coolant is at the right concentration.
This is important because improper concentrations can lead to pitting of the diesel cylinder lining walls and to eventual engine failure.
Anyway I called Holiday Rambler tech support and they said somewhere around that year(2004) they quit putting the coolant filters in. This means that you have to maintain the SCA (supplemental coolant additives by pouring it in from a concentrated bottle you can buy.
You then check the concentration level with test strips you can also buy. The test strips change colors after you've taken a coolant sample from the radiator and dipped the test strip in it.

Thanks for the info on the water filter. BTW, where is the secondary fuel filter located and does it look like the primiary filter? Also, have you changed the transmission filter yet? Where is it located? I looked hard but cannot find it. s/Toby

Toby,
I pointed out some of the info your wanting under the thread aabout Cummins ISC 330 oil change that you started.
Yes I have done the 5000 mile main filter change. Wasn't hard to do, but I would recommend going to the Allison site and printing out directions.
The filters are located in the bottom of the transmission and are flush with the bottom. They access covers look like plates that remove. They don't stick out like you think a filter might. One says lube and the other main. Main is the one to replace at he first 5000 mile interval.
