itdave - It's great that Costco in Bakersfield does sell bulk propane, but which Costco in Bakersfield? We have been at the one near the intersection of 99 and 58 a few times on our way to Arizona or to Los Angeles. We've even parked overnight there - way at the side of the parking lot where we saw a few other motohomes. And that they're adding thaat to other locations as they are upgrading is also good news.
I was not trying to rock the boat....hence the smile. No worries just lets all share what we ALL find out from the various Costco locations and SAVE !

I am for saving a few $$$ here and there !

Safe Travels !

I've seen two RV's taking on propane at the Costco just off of Scripps Parkway in Poway, CA. Fill up is just to the side of the tire center. No diesel at this location...yet.

It could be that Costco stores with sufficient parking lot space for a big tank next to the tire shop will be upgraded to propane dispensing. An attendant has to be available nearby when you hit the buzzer button for service.

The stores I've seen so far dispense into any size portable cylinder and fill based on weight. And they did have an RV accessible hose and proper valve on it for filling permanent mounted ASME tanks such as those used in Class A and C rigs.

And in most cases I'd want to scout out access before attempting to drive any size rig into the propane dispensing station.
