Dangling Wire question

I noticed a dangling wire behind the passenger side rear tires, I got under to see if I could find where it belongs but so far no luck.

I have noticed that the Transmission temperature gage on the dash has never seemed to work, because the Aladdin Junior monitor displays the engine & transmission temperatures I never worried about it.

I'm thinking that this is probably the reason!

Would anyone know where the cable attaches to the transmission or know of a place where I could obtain drawings of Allison Transmissions ?

Thank You

Can't be 100% factual here, but here goes:
I attempted troubleshooting my tranny temp gauge also (the needle of which seldom rises above the left resting post). My tranny-temp sensor was at the front-center near the tranny pan. As you describe your wire, it would be too short to reach what I've just described.

Suggest using a cheap digital multi-meter (Harbor Freight) to see if the wire is (1) carrying any voltage, or (2) has an ohmage -path to ground .... just to define this wire a little further. The the FORUM can mull it around some more!

Try cleaning the wire off and look for numbers that might ID the function. There are wires all over my coach that go no where and do nothing when they get there that seem to be for devices not installed in our coach or are used in another config MH that the wiring serves as a universal wiring harness for.

I have a 01 Diplomat and I too have wires dangling (male ends on them) on the drivers side, almost directly under the rear lights. I have checked them out and I believe that the previos owner had some sort of extra brake or lighting wiring system rigged up there. There are no other empty female sockets or other unconnected wires anywhere near.
