The original selling dealer had replaced parts twice and supposedly the entire dash AC hot/cold controller unit, but when the engine temp reached 125 the air became hot and hotter.
Our new dealer Robert Crist & Company also replaced the entire dash AC controller unit and thought that solved the problem of hot air. But it did not, again when the temp reached 125 the air became hot.
Today, the technician really stopped to think about the issue and looked at another MH, comparing it with ours. He realized something so obvious that no one else had noticed. The AC controller was attached to the wrong hose.
He switched it to the hose that takes water to the recyling box and now we have cold air even when the engine was 140 degrees. (He took it from a red hose and moved it to a black hose.)
The problem came from the factory that way and no one questioned it. In my job, troubleshooting means you have to start at the beginning and ask some real basic questions in order to progress to a solution. I'm glad that George, our technician at Robert Crist,
was able to think outside the edges and see the obvious. Thank goodness!!
