Hi everyone ,lets just say im the proud new owner of a new 2008 holiday rambler neptune xl 37pdq.its my second motorhome.i bought it in LA and drove home to Monterey California.ive noticed a couple of problems ill put in seperate posts.heres my biggest problem.the dash ac does not work .it pops the dash ac clutch fuse.its a 20 amp.it pops as soon as i put the knob to ac or max ac instantly.i called holiday rambler and he said to put my voltmeter to the wire going into the acc compressor.well there is 3 wires .2 are black with a white stripe and one black wire.he said if my voltmeter was at 12 volts it was not the ac compresser but if it was reading 18 19 or 20 its a bad compresser.and im assuming its the compressor right under the altenator which is a absolute bitch to get to and see.has anyone experienced this problem?with no warranty it looks like it is up to me to fix.

thanks guys

It might be the compressor fan. Mine was bad and would blow the ACC fuse just as soon as I turned the switch. I ordered a new fan from the manufacturer. Cost me 125 bucks and was easy to replace.

Sorry, I meant the condensor fan. On my coach it is located on the rear drivers side. You use your barrel key to open the cover and then open the condensor. The fan is not supposed to pull more than 30 amps on 12 volts. Mine was pulling 70. Obviously bad brushes or something. I bought it from Specific Climate Systems. You may have to google them to get their number. The part number should be on the fan. If it is the same as mine it 086-00319. We don't have the same chassis but Monaco provided the fan so let's hope its something simple. The way I found this out was a tech disconnected the fan and the AC ran without blowing the fuse, it just didn't cool as well.

WELL THE FUSE IS NOT POPPING ANYMORE.

when i unplugged the fan the fuse would not pop so i thought bad fan like gramps fan.
i took the 12 volt condenser fan out and hooked to a 12 volt car battery in my garage and the fan ran perfectly .but i still didnt know if it was a bad fan by drawing to much amperage .im not good with a volt meter yet.i hooked a fuse inline to the hot wire and it would only pop a 7.5 amp fuse and not a 20 amp fuse which is what was popping in the fuse box.i ran it for about 20 minutes total and decided to reinstall it in the rv and whattya no, no more popping fuse.the only thing i can think of what happened is by running direct to a battery in the garage or moving it and shaking the hell out of fixed somthing in side .(i dont know)i did notice a couple of fan blades were very very close to the housing it sits in ,maybe were touching causing it to bind a little on start up and when i took it out they shifted away from the housing.dont know but cold air blows and the and no more fuse popping.

thanks gramps for all your time back in forth on the pms
