It might not be the switch at all. The fan speeds are created by a group of various sized resistors.

I see that now. Thanks. Anyone know where this is located? Guess I'll slide open the genny door and see if I can find the blower motor.

My coach is very close to yours.

My resistor pack is mounted in the plastic enclosure that covers the AC evaporator. It is at the top that, mine had 3 or 4 wires going to it.

It seems like the hole this resister was mounted in was larger than the part. Plus the part has holes in it. Isn't thus the blower box this thing is mounted in? Seems that would suck a lot of hot road air and water. I'm going to measure it closer. If the hole cutout is too big I will seal it up with additional plastic.
It has a diode on it that is blown. I presume it's a12v diode and I may try to solder in a new one. Seems part is about $23

If you have a 01 dynasty reach up there and see if your hole is too big.

If you take the whole resistor pack to an auto parts store they can probably match it with a new one. The holes might be for the fan to draw fresh air in across the heated resistor coils.

Just replaced the identical part from O'Reilly's . Cost $16.95, easy to replace.

I'm having a hard time crossing the old motor craft part number. Do you have the oreily part number?

Part number is BWD RU1138 (BWD is the brand), they also carry another brand by Murray.

This is for my F53 chassis but was listed for a Ford Econoline.

FYI, the "diode" that some people call it, is a thermo fuse and is non resettable. I just bought one from Fry's for $1.95 and will re-solder it on the old one for a spare.

Another quick note. I took the old part in to Oreilly's and they simply looked at the original part number on the unit and cross referenced it.

I couldn't find this thread and started another one. I've found my problem. I'll ask the moderators to combine this and the new threads. My fan speed switch was shorted and melted Click image for larger version
